Situated just a minute’s walk from The Old Library is NQ64, a retro arcade game bar covered in bright neon décor. The Big Birmingham Bake

Based on Floodgate Street just a 5-minute walk away, is The Big Birmingham Bake – a baking experience you’ll never forget! Suited better to smaller groups due to the nature of the activity, you will have all of the equipment provided, be guided by a head baker and eventually a winning team will be crowned. Matrix VR

Located mere steps from The Old Library is Matrix VR, a virtual reality gaming arcade with an impressive array of the highest spec computers on the market! Book multiple time slots to give your team a virtual reality fix in groups throughout the day, as space inside is limited. However, this is an affordable and easily accessible way to treat your delegates during your day with us.

Golf Fang

Walk down the cobblestones of Gibb Street and at the very end you will find Golf Fang, an indoor, super fun and quirky 18-hole golf course! This is one of Digbeth’s original activity and entertainment spots that has stood the test of time (including the pandemic!), proving just how popular it is. Take your delegates on a trip down funky lane and challenge each other to a round of crazy golf!

Teamworks Karting

About a 5-minute walk from The Old Library is Teamworks Karting, the only karting circuit in Birmingham city centre! They have recently undergone a massive track improvement and added brand new state-of-the-art electric karts, so there has never been a better time to visit. Also on-site, they have racing simulators and a laser tag area, so there will be something high adrenaline to keep everyone busy.

Roxy Lanes

The ultimate bowling experience in Digbeth is just a few minutes’ walk from The Old Library. Roxy Lanes boasts 10 lanes of bowling fun and even has a private hire space on the balcony for up to 80 guests, which includes 5 pool tables, 2 shuffleboard tables and a ping pong table. This could be the perfect relaxed spot for your delegates to unwind after the day, with multiple activity options for them to choose from!

Food & Drinks

The Old Crown

Just next door to The Old Library is The Old Crown, Birmingham’s oldest pub dating all the way back to 1368. It’s hard to believe that 656 years of history fill the halls & walls of this stunning old building – if only walls could talk! We work in partnership with the food & bar teams at The Old Crown to provide our F&B, so let us know if you would like to reserve a space for your delegates after the conference for some yummy pub grub and a pint.

Alfred Works

The newest addition to the Digbeth food & drink scene is Alfred Works. Located on the opposite side of Gibb Street about a minute’s walk away, Alfred Works is a food hall full of independent kitchens and bars serving a whole host of global street food. There is sometimes no pleasing everyone with your restaurant selection, so why not go for a thriving new food hall with 15 kitchens to choose from, including Greek, Italian, Caribbean, Korean, Palestinian & more!

Also located on Gibb Street is a cosy and relaxed option for your after-conference evening. Chance & Counters has a wide range of craft beers & ciders, complimenting their delicious street food menu. What makes this location stand out is their collection of board games that are available to play for a small fee, so if a relaxed but still fun experience is what you are after, then Chance & Counters might just be your choice!

The Rainbow

For a traditional Digbeth pub experience, take a visit to The Rainbow, just a 5-minute walk up the high street from The Old Library. The Rainbow is an iconic Digbeth boozer, providing delicious cocktails, great food, live music and live sport! Nestled in the heart of Digbeth around a 5-minute walk from The Old Library is Hanbao, an innovative and exciting burger restaurant. The Ruin

Our last pick is another iconic Digbeth pub with over 200 years of history. If you fancy a longer walk after your conference to stretch those legs, The Ruin is about a 7-minute slow walk away and is the perfect stop off for your delegates on their way back into the city centre for a quick drink or bite to eat. With inside space and a lovely outdoor upstairs terrace, it is a great location to end your day and be within minutes of the city centre hotels and train stations.
